WHAT WILL YOU BE REMEMBERED FOR?

March 21st 2007 01:04
When it's time for you to depart this mortal life, what legacy, if any, will you leave behind?

What will be the sum total your existence on this earthly plane?
Have you contributed anything at all useful or have you simply consumed and used......resources, time, money, oxygen, water, energy, space?

If my time was up today, what would I be remembered for?
Good question.....I would probably be remembered mostly as a troubled but benign soul.
The memories of the perceived or real drama's and dilemmas I have created or become embroiled in as I skip with gay abandon into the face of adversity and insanity, I would imagine outweigh any beneficial actions....but then again, maybe people would remember that I tried......and tried........and tried.........and was very trying?

I wish I could truly say that something I have said and done has made my being worthwhile in the big scheme of things, made a difference, mattered, earnt my ticket on the merry-go-round of life before it grinds to a halt....

What will you be remembered for?

Dear Miss Nomer ...

I'll be remembered as the guy that turned wakes into a celebratory rather than a mourning affair ...

And as the guy who generated a National Day of Forgettance ...

Dear David......to me a funeral and gathering thereafter are a time for celebration of a life not lamenting a loss, for some it may sadly be the only time that their life was ever diseccted and good and true values recognised and lauded for what they were.....
Everday is forgettance day in my diary of denial......

It's a pity that you can't see all of the influences that you've had on others in your life. That would help a lot. I can understand why the movie "It's a wonderful life" is so beloved now..

Dear D A.........how true.......I remember when someone who was dear to me passed over, all the kind and loving words that were spoken then, but to my knowledge not while he was alive. Maybe the thing is to ensure that you let people know when they do have an influence while you can let them know, it might as you say make a difference

It depends on who is doing the remembering. I'm sure there'd be mixed opinions.
