TOXIC LOVE - (our love was once as sustaining as the Murray River)
How can something that began simply and purely
become so poisoned and tainted
The river that was our love and ran so freely
...the flow interrupted, becoming stagnant
has dried and left behind a sludge of lies
that sucks us down, stuck, trapped, polluted
Nowhere to go, but back to the source
slowly, carefully washing off the lost hopes and dreams
in tiny streams that trickle maybes and what only ifs.....
Begin the journey again another day sometime soon
with a resevoir of renewed faith and belief
