THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.......

THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY IS .......... YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.......
.
Real sacher torte in Austria and I ate it all and my ex's and his friends.
Now as a rational person I understand that that "You are what you eat" is figurative, not literal, meaning if you eat lots of fatty, sugary, carb laden food,(every day), you are likely end up obese and unhealthy. Conversely, if you eat lots of fruit and vegies and good protein etc you will be relatively healthy or healthier than someone that subsists on the former.
Spare a thought for someone, for argument's sake, a new australian, who is learning english, who may not have a grasp on the subtleties of such a statement. Any wonder they reject our staples, Macdonalds, Hungry Jacks, Pizza Hut, Meat Pies, Fish and chips and stick to the food of their own culture, and moreso, congregate in areas where there are likeminded and familar peoples?
If I am literally what I eat then today I am the sum total of........ 2 crumpets with vegemite, 4 coffees, 1 burrito with avacado salad, 1/2 a packet of rice crackers with houmoss, tomato, swiss cheese slices and parmesean stuffed olives, and a banana split! (ok so I was doing ok until then). I am a vegeterian with a very limited repetoire. In fact when I look back over some years (Thailand and Romania were a bit tricky sometimes...It's a wonder I'm not the size of a small condominium in Mumbai. (Loved the food in India).
So bear a thought for our ESL compatriots, remember........Before you criticise another try walking a mile in there shoes......

If you see a beer can rock up at your place? And knock on your door? It's me, okay? ...
Do not treat me like a John West sardine tin and reject me, okay? ...

If the beer can is empty it wont get in the front door, it will go straight to the recycling room down the hall.
I do not like beer, I am a imbiber of the juice of the grape, preferably of a pale varietial and not aged in oak and I detest those plastic corks and screw tops, takes the anticipation and theatre out of the whole ritual. (though really handy if your at the beach and cant find the corkscrew, or on your third bottle and cant find the corkscrew or on your 5th bottle and dont know what a corkscrew is......
I hate sardines... I am actually a pescarian not a true vegetarian. Tuna is good though, especially Sirena in olive oil with tuna, great with mashed boiled egg, S & W whole egg mayo and plain old fashioned ice-berg lettuce shredded, on a bauguette.... Yumm......

Pescarian is actually a reference to someone who has seafood in their South Node ie Cancer, Pisces, Scoprio,
as opposed to their North Node, then the terminology is Crustacean.
Hope this clears this up for you.
For my name is Miss Nomer and I'm here to help x

I wish technology was more advanced ... and had been when I was in my mother's womb ... I could have hooked up to 'intravenous, foetal womb-cam, live streaming and downoad digital burning' ... and known everything before I was born.
Boy IT is limited ...
