Sounds like an incongruous statement to me, how could you ever get anything done? Ach, Einstein didn't know it all......

If all his thinking and doing were in the present moment and the future just flowed on from that without any real planning as such?

I give up none of my plans pan out anyway........

Do everything you can as if it all depended upon you, but leave it all up to Providence as to what does happen ...

and ...

Ah yes, Einstein wasn't talking about plans....it sounds like he means worrying about the future and yes in that sense it does come sooner than we think...which is good and bad (and other bits in the middle).....
