SWEET DREAMS

As you slumber tonight
may your spirit delight
in fond memories past
and those memories yet to be
May your dreams seem so real
you believe you can feel........
A velvet light touch gently
caressing your cares away
With the body supine
glorious, flowing and free
And when the birds call
May your soul softly fall
into wide open arms
body rested, refreshed
Begin again,
A brand new day.........

That is one of the best poems I have read for ages ...
I get into poetry but rarely does a poem draw me into it(or get into me) to the point where I can actually 'feel' everything the poem itself is suggesting ...
And rarely do I read and re-read a poem ...
Or find a poem with all the right (and choice) words in all the right places ... and with such utter simplicity of style (that it contains so much depth ...
My writing teacher? One of his criteria for calling a poem 'great'? ... It had to be 'memorable' ... This poem? Memorable ... (I love the entire poem but the opening line to the final stanza ... 'And when the birds call' and onwards? ... It flutters ...

I was having trouble settling my mind last night and I looked at the Buddha photo and the words just sort of came tumbling out.......
I found it kind of comforting....and had a great sleep
