GRATITUDE THE MOST POSTIVE ATTITUDE?

a feeling of being thankful to somebody for doing something
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

Is gratitude the key to the prison of my intellect that will unbolt the door and let in light, love, peace of mind and happiness?
If one is grateful for everything you can possibly be grateful for does joy and happiness necessary follow as a given?
If you live and breathe gratitude, make a conscious effort in thinking, speaking, and acting with gratefulness will the act of mindfully thinking thus, automatically spill over into all areas of your life?
“What am I grateful for right now?”
If I think about this, I find that I am grateful for a multitude of experiences, things, stuff; but right now, this minute, I am grateful that it is a lovely day, I have enough money to pay the bills this month, I am lucky enough to have some time to spend with my family, food on the table, friends calling me to see hello, just purely to see how I’m doing………and right now, today, I’m doing ok……….
Now… spending the past two weeks with my family has at times, had me feeling slightly insane, but you know what, apart from the occasional rise in my blood pressure and lots of practice at counting to 10, really, I am very grateful.
I am grateful that mum and dad are still alive and I am spending time with them, because like all of us, they aren’t getting any younger, and one day in the future, maybe soon, maybe not so soon, they’ll both we gone and I wont have the opportunity to do so.
I’m grateful for lots of things that I have in my life, and also don’t have, like serious illness…For today I choose to be grateful and count my blessings and be grateful that I can……….
