Birther Movement, An Insult and a Joke

August 6th 2009 14:22
Everyday that I turn the news on or read a newspaper or just overhear people talking, this damn birther movement crap keeps coming up. When, in history, has this country ever before allowed a group of nuts to get together, with such momentum, to challenge and question the birth certificate of any standing United States President? A crazy, barely English speaking psycho named Orly Taitz is gaining media buzz, not just for her clear stupidity and ignorance, but more so for her beliefs and supposed proof that President Obama was not born in the United States and therefore is not truly the Commander in Chief. For those of us with common sense would know right off the bat that this is not possible simply because of the lengthy and extensive background checks a presidential candidate must go through. But maybe the GOP has run out of things to do, say like disappearing back under the rocks that obviously most of them have crawled out from under, so they're now back and pushing this ridiculous notion.

This Orly Taitz has garnered a crazy following, including many elected officials who are responsible for setting policies and laws in this country! Even old as Chuck Norris is a 'birther' follower, and he's not had a decent acting gig since, hmmm...hmmmm....oh wait, I forgot, he does peddle some kind of exercise contraption during the wee hours of the morning through infomercials. What is it with this country, have we completely gone to hell in a hand basket? And if we have, why now under a young, vibrant, capable man who's vision is to hopefully bounce us back from what the last 20 years or so have brought us to? Why didn't someone challenge George Bush's birth certificate, oh wait, with that super COUNTRY accent of his and the special incestuous look on his face, there's no question he's American, Texas American at that! Or better yet, if we're questioning elected officials birth rights, how about educational backgrounds, because I'd put my money on President Obama having been born here in the states before betting that Sarah Palin has a true High School degree! Even once respectable journalists such as Lou Dobbs has chimed in using his CNN talk show and his radio show to spout the ignorance that has become a movement.

The GOP is soo against the idea of abortion, but I'm beginning to wonder if abortion was legal and maybe even forced in some cases, maybe we could be spared the mass amounts of idiots we have walking around on this earth today! Mainly, the ultra conservative right, terrorists, serial murderers, baby killers, abusers, etc...but not necessarily in that order. As much as I hate to admit it, Bush's administration would not have tolerated this. Cheney would have been all over it like white on rice and probably would have had Orly Taitz and her followers secretly murdered by undercover CIA forces. Their deaths would have been headlines reading as 'accidental' car crashes or plane crashes, you know, like in the movies and television shows. So why now? So far, it's being laughed at by most intelligent circles, but the White House doesn't seem to be taking it seriously enough to consider it as treason and not just an insult and an utter joke.

It's treason because it not only threatens and challenges the highest office in the United States, but it puts the President's life in danger from any nut case in the world who could use this as excuse. It's treason because it challenges the capability and responsibility of the United States government of knowing whether or not it has elected a President who's not of American citizenship. Hell, it should be treason solely based on shear stupidity. I'm unaware of what the current punishment is for the act of treason, but even if it's just jail time, it should be enforced and used as a fear tactic to shut up these nuts. Their very presence on my television screen, radio airwaves, and in my newspapers is insulting and offensive. They're wasting energy that could be and should be used towards getting health care reform, forcing the Senate to stay in session until they come to agreement and sign in to action something that's not more taxes or more loss of jobs. These 'birthers' should refocus their attacks not against the President we have currently, but Presidents before hand and congressman and senators who sat back and let deregulation go amuck, who let big corporations give themselves billion dollar bonuses at the expense of taxpayers money, who let workers go without health insurance and pensions and our elderly without proper social security benefits due them! These things are what they should be researching and preaching about and pushing for investigation of.

But no, as with all the rights we have, it is still just as much a right of a moron to express his ideas and garner a following and show the world why we're such a freaking joke.
